Ready to play?

Here’s what to expect:

A Joyful Little Band always looks forward to our next LittleWolf Jazz Jam, and we’d love to see you there!

About a week before the Jam, we upload a Google Doc (you came to the right place) so you can see what our plan is.  The doc isn’t quite ready to go yet, but please check back as we get closer to the next Jam.

As a basic concept, we break our time into three segments, but we are always flexible and have fun just going with the flow. The first hour or so, A Joyful Little Band will play a set to let folks settle in and grab drinks. The second section is a traditional open mic, but you’ve got A Joyful Little Band to back you up and play along with you’d like.  The last section is a “group play” jam.  The Google Doc (once posted) will include four to six pieces that we will work on collaboratively.  We will have charts ready to go, but we highly recommend you purchase your own copy of Hal Leonard’s The Real Book 6th edition from Heid Music in Stevens Point.  It is the definitive collection, and our “go to” for grabbing charts.

Please follow A Joyful Little Band on Facebook and LittleWolf Gallery so you don’t miss any upcoming event postings.  Please share our posts,  leave comments with any questions or suggestions, and bring your friends!  See you there!

We haven’t quite planned out the next Jazz Jam, but check back soon for more info and charts.  In the meantime, reach out to us with questions.  If you plan on playing a few tunes, please let us know what you’d like to play, so we can be sure to double check key signatures and arrangements.  It’s so fun to create the collective experience, and we want you to feel great about being on stage.
